Gaea
"You ... I ... you're the children of ... who?"
Kaish smiled slightly at the gray-haired woman in front of her and tightened her grip on her twin. "We're the daughters of Kai Yaten and Devari Sati."
"The other dimension's Devari and Kai, that is," Yaten replied, nodding.
The gray-haired woman stared at them in shock for a moment, then pulled them both into a hug. Devari stepped back after a moment and looked at the two. "Yes, now I see ... you got your green eyes from her. Definite heriditary Hunter trait. Just don't tell this Kai who you are. She and I don't really ..."
"We know," Yaten replied. She rubbed the back of her head for a moment, then sighed. "We've already met her. She was most annoyed to learn that Zavi had inherited the green eyes, but Devii didn't."
"But every single one of your kids did," Kaish replied, poking the slightly younger woman in the ribs. "As did Midori."
"Midori was going to end up with green eyes, no matter what. So will her little sister."
After Pandora's welcoming ceremony was basically brought to a halt by Riein and StarFighter's reunion, the elder StarFighter and StarDestroyer were brought into the palace and introduced to the dimensional travellers. Miyoshi had immediately pulled Seiya into a hug and sent the red-haired Guard to start bringing the rest of the StarLights from the ship.
StarHunter had been shocked to learn her other self had had kids with StarHealer and had immediately returned to the ship with her own daughter, not wanting anything to do with either of the gray-haired women. Most of the other StarLights that had journeyed to Gaea so far, had been saddened to learn that their own counterparts no longer existed, or hadn't yet been found. With the hope that one day, it could come in handy, Xavier had taken it upon himself to gather as much information about the other Lights as possible.
The twins and Haruka had remained outside of the palace, and away from the ensuing chaos, to watch the ships hovering above the city. They had counted fifteen distinctly different ships when Miyo felt Seiya call them. "Guess it's time to go meet the relatives."
Shi smiled a little and hooked her arm with her twin's. "And we thought we were getting away from a mansion full of family by coming here." She hooked her other arm with Haruka's and started pulling them toward the palace. "Come on, I wanna see if there's a copy of you somewhere in here, Miyo."
Haruka grinned slightly as she was pulled along. "Kami-sama help us if there are more like you two." She chuckled at the look on the blonde's face. "Though, at least maybe they won't be reincarnations of more former enemies."
"Hey! I thought you weren't going to mention that anymore!"
Miyo laughed as her sister suddenly stopped and turned to glare at the older blonde. She pulled her arm free and left the two of them to have their staring contest in the middle of the crowded room. Ducking around one of the blue-haired StarLights she had yet to identify, she bounced over to a familiar black-haired woman and latched on to her arm. "Shi-chan is arguing with Haruka-oba-chan again."
"Um ... okay?"
Riein laughed slightly at the brunette. "Wrong StarFighter, Miyo-chan. This is Jilo Seiya, not your Dema."
Miyo glanced from the blue-haired Goddess to the woman she had latched on to and back. "Are you ... sure?" When they both nodded, she stepped back and into someone. Turning slightly, she saw the blue-haired warrior she had ducked around. "G-Gomen."
Rishi chuckled slightly and put an arm around Miyo's shoulders. "It's okay, sis. Or would you be 'cousin'?"
Jilo smiled at the brunette. "Miyo-chan? this is my daughter, Rishi. Well ... mine and Riein's daughter."
Riein's jaw dropped as she stared at Jilo. "Our ... daughter?"
Miyo smiled a little and ducked out of Rishi's embrace. "Nice meeting you, cousin." She saw the blue-haired Goddes pull the younger woman into a hug, then started looking for another head of black hair. Finally seeing the person she wanted, she slipped between two redheads and latched on to her arm. "I really hope I have the right one this time."
Seiya chuckled and nodded. "I take it you've met Jilo? Well, now I want you to meet her parents, Miyoshi Seiya and Kou Roag. And this, is my eldest daughter, Miyo."
Miyoshi smiled at the younger girl. "It's nice to finally meet you, Miyo. Kou has been telling us all about you and your siblings."
Miyo stared at the person beside the older black-haired woman for several long moments, idly nodding when she heard Miyoshi speak. Seiya chuckled again, then reached over to lightly pull on the brunette's ponytail to gain her attention. "Miyo, where is your sister?"
The brunette jumped and turned to look at her mother. "Uh, she's ... she was talking to Haruka-oba-chan," she replied. She turned back to look at the person standing beside Miyoshi and felt her jaw drop again.
Jilo's father, Kou Roag, just smiled at the younger woman's reaction. "Your Dema did the same thing," he replied. He pushed bright blond hair back behind his ear and chuckled. "I take it your version of me looked a little ... different?"
Seiya shrugged. "Honestly, I don't know. Anyone that remembered him is long gone and there was so much damage done to the records that ... there's no way of knowing." She saw Haruka coming toward them and motioned her closer. "Where's Shi-chan?"
"Talking to your double. She's convinced that ... Rishi? is Rei-chan's double. I-" Haruka stopped talking as soon as she saw Kou. "You look just like ..."
"She says she isn't, but I'm sure she's Rei's double. If Rei-chan had blue hair, that is." Shi stopped beside her twin and frowned. "But why do I keep getting strange looks from them?"
Miyo looked over to see her sister still staring at the blue-haired woman she had spoken to earlier. Letting go of their mother, the brunette grabbed the blonde's shoulders and turned her to face the older aliens. "Miyoshi-san, Kou-san, this is my twin sister, Shi."
Shi frowned at her sister's actions until she came face to face with Kou. The man who, as far as she knew, was the double of her grandfather, had blond hair, blue eyes and was barely an inch taller than she was. If it wasn't for the goatee on his face and his slightly broader forehead, she could have been looking into a mirror.
"I'm even more confused now ... Shi-chan looks like her grandfather so now she thinks she isn't the daughter of this ... Sailor Moon?"
Devii nodded, idly toying with one of her baby sister's toys. She was sitting in the library, staring into the fireplace and telling Ryusei what had happened with the StarLights after the Goddesses had left them alone to talk. "She always thought that because she was blonde that that meant she wasn't Miyo-chan's full twin. That she had a different ... father, but ... now that she's seen what her grandfather may have looked like, she's convinced that they DO have the same parents, after all."
Ryusei rubbed his forehead, then put down the book he had been reading. "And I thought trying to figure out who I'm related to was complicated." He walked over to the chair, hugged the dark pink-haired girl and smiled. "Does it really matter in the long run if she is related to this Sailor Moon or not?"
"To her, I think it does. You see, if she is ... that makes her half-human, but if she isn't, she's half-Hrrrrunai ..." Devii sighed, wrapping her arms around his. "Either way, she still feels angry at Sailor Moon for not helping us take back Kinmoku. I guess it's easier to be angry with someone who isn't your parent. I have to admit, I am a little angry with her myself."
"For not helping? But didn't you say that it would have led to the deaths of even more of your people if you had tried?"
Nodding, Devii sighed again. "Yes, it probably would have, but ... Dema gave up so much to save everything the first time. Zavi was just two when ... If that madwoman Galaxia hadn't turned Dema into one of her warriors, I wouldn't even be alive right now." Staring at the toy in her hands, a sad smile crossed her face. "I should be happy that Midori doesn't have to grow up fearing war. I should be happy that we have a peaceful life, at last, but ... she'll never see Kinmoku."
Ryusei moved to kneel in front of her and placed his hands around hers. "She will see it. Through the eyes of their big sister, both Midori and her little sister will see the world you called home. The world your mother gave her life to save."
"Maybe ... but I'm still angry with Chiba-san. Nothing will change that."
"I'm not trying to change it. I'm just trying to tell you that there is more to life than holding on to old grudges." Ryusei pulled her into a hug and glanced to the doorway where he saw another woman with dark pink hair and green eyes, watching them. Tightening his grip on Devii, he continued to watch her until Kai turned and walked away.
The next two weeks were even more chaotic as the newly arrived Kinmokunai slowly transferred their people to the planet's surface a few at a time. They soon realized that there was no way the modifications to the portal generators could be done safely until the civilians were removed. The populus of Gaea, already being familiar with aliens, welcomed the newcomers, but there was still the question of where to put them all. The sleepy planet that had appeared nearly barren when Seiya and the others first arrived, was suddenly overflowing with people.
"How in the world did we ever manage to fit a million people into a world with billions?"
Yaten chuckled slightly. "Easy, we didn't have to find places for them all on Earth. A lot of the other races went to other planets and there are still a few hundred thousand on the ships." She glanced over a star-chart from one of the Kinmokunai ships, sighing. "Are you sure that Mars and Jupiter are unable to support life?"
"That's what Rosalind said," Seiya replied. She glanced at the map in front of the gray-haired woman and frowned. "What's that?"
Yaten looked at the spot where Seiya indicated and frowned. "I don't know, it's not listed."
"That's because it's forbidden." Jilo punched in a few commands on the crystal panel and the map moved closer to the small, dark planet. "It used to be a second moon of this planet, I think, but it got hit by asteroids and knocked out of orbit. It was made into a prison planet for a while. Unless I've forgotten the history already."
Riein smiled a little and shook her head. "You didn't. It was called Nemesis by those that were sent there. Because it wasn't in orbit of any of the other planets, artificial means were used to support life. It wasn't the best place to live. Then one day, it just ... died. We sent teams to investigate, but no one ever came back, so we don't know what really happened. It's been forbidden to go there ever since."
"Wow, that's depressing."
"Can you take this a little more seriously, please, Rishi?"
Rishi nodded at her mother and pointed to a set of maps she and the twins were looking at. "I am taking it seriously. We've already found an island that will be good for a shipyard."
Jilo frowned. "But there's nothing big enough on this planet to make a ship yard."
Miyo nodded. "There is, but it's not an island, it's a continent. We call it Antarctica. It's basically a giant mass of frozen land and ice."
"In the Southern region of the planet? That's ..." Riein frowned, staring down at her hands.
Seiya watched her for a moment, then turned to face the twins. "A shipyard won't work there, it'll throw off the whole ecosystem. Don't worry so much about that right now. We need land that can support life."
"Then what about Triton? It has a similar orbit to Gaea, has the ability to sustain life and has a breathable atmosphere," Shi replied, pulling up the image on her display. "All that would need to be done is to set up a system to purify the water so it's drinkable."
Miyo frowned as she looked at the image of the mostly water-covered planet. "What's wrong with the water?"
"It's salt water. Triton is basically one giant ocean, with a few little islands," Shi replied.
Yaten sighed. "Too few. That's why it wasn't considered. There isn't enough landmass above the water to support construction."
Miyo sighed and began rubbing her forehead. "All these maps are giving me a headache. I'm going outside for some air."
Shi frowned, watching the brunette move toward the door. "Hang on, I'll join you," she replied, following her.
Seiya stretched her neck, staring blankly at the screen in front of her. "I hate to say it, but I suddenly miss the Hrrrrunai colony ships." She glanced over at Yaten and frowned at the look on her face. "What are you thinking, old friend?"
Yaten grinned slightly. "Just thinking that if Usagi-chan was here, she'd just add on to the palace."
Haruka saw the twins standing on one of the balconies as she was leading another group of aliens on a tour of the palace. Since there were so many of them, most of the Kinmokunai had returned to the ships and were only returning a few at a time. Today, she was showing around one of the StarLights who hadn't been on the planet before, a second StarDestroyer named Niu, as well as her husband and children. As they passed the balcony, Haruka asked them to wait for a moment.
"I thought you two were helping your Dema."
Miyo turned to look at the older women and frowned slightly. "If you can call what we were doing, helping." She rubbed her forehead again. "Basically, it's just giving me a huge headache."
Haruka frowned as well. "Are you okay? It's not like a ... telepathic thing, is it?"
Shi shook her head as she straightened up. "Old maps, small writing and not enough technology to build what we need." She turned toward the palace and saw the latest group of aliens. "Who's that? She looks kind of like that Ati woman."
"I think she's her daughter, not sure. Her name's Niu Rior. I think she looks a lot like Taiki-chan, personally." Haruka glanced back toward the waiting group and sighed. "I had better get back to playing tour guide. You girls going to be okay?"
"Yeah. We just needed some fresh air." Miyo smiled slightly, then hooked her arm with Shi. "We'll walk with you. At least until you get to the meeting room."
Shi nodded and allowed herself to be pulled along. 'Miyo ... I thought you weren't feeling well.'
'I'm not, but that name sounds familiar. I think ... I think I know who this woman is ... or who her other self was.' Miyo smiled a little at her sister, then turned to face the four Kinmokunai as Haruka introduced them.
"Miyo-chan, Shi-chan, this is Niu Rior, her husband Illion and their children Cure and Niicaus. These two are Miyo and Shi Tamura, children of our StarFighter."
Niu's smile was sad when she greeted the twins and Miyo caught fleeting images of a group of young StarLights from her mind. The brunette returned the greeting, then glanced at the two younger warriors. "I remember you. You're the ones that teleported Jilo-san into the courtyard."
The blue-haired woman chuckled. "Guilty as charged." Cure grinned at the twins. "I've never been one for doing things formally."
"Or for doing what she's told," Illion replied. He chuckled at the look on his daughter's face, then smiled at the twins. "I don't recognize the name Tamura. I guess our worlds are more different than we thought."
"It's ... complicated," Shi replied. "Tamura was our father's name. He was Hrrrrunai and as part of the Peace Accord with their government, all the children of the arranged marriages were given the family name of their Hrrrrunai parent. Our mother is Kou Seiya."
Niu's smile became a lot more cheerful. "Did you say, Kou Seiya?"
Illion placed a hand on her arm. "Niu, it could just be a coincidence."
"I know." Niu stepped closer to the twins. "Please tell me, what are the names of your StarHealer and ... and StarMaker?"
Haruka frowned slightly. "They're named Kou as well. After Seiya's father, I think." She raised an eyebrow as the red-haired woman almost started bouncing in place. "Does that mean something to you?"
Niu turned to face the blonde and nodded. "Indeed it does. You see, I am not originally from this dimension. I only came here after my Kinmoku was attacked by Galaxia."
Haruka's frown deepened as she turned to look at the twins. "She couldn't really be-" The words died on her lips as she watched the two younger aliens vanish.
